Bosses of Mass Destruction introduces four interesting yet tricky bosses into Minecraft, spread across different dimensions. These are the Night Lich, Nether Gauntlet, Obisidilith, and Void Blossom.

This is one of many of our Mod Wikis, here at Minecraft Guides. If you're interesting in finding out about more of Minecraft's Best Mods, then check out our dedicated section! We allow you to sort by Forge, Fabric, Minecraft Version and Genre!

Night Lich

One of the first bosses you might encounter is the Night Lich, as it spawns on the surface of the Overworld. Specifically, it can be found in colder biomes, in a structure called the Lich Tower. Due to the sheer size of the Lich Tower, you might naturally come across it while exploring.

However, it can also be found by releasing Soul Stars. Undead mobs, such as Skeletons and Zombies, drop these items. And a lot will need to be defeated to obtain Soul Stars. They act a lot like Ender Pearls and will point toward a Lich Tower (if one is within a reasonable distance).

Inside the Lich Tower are multiple spawners, which summon mobs like Skeletons with equipped armor. There are also multiple floors to the tower, with Chests containing loot also being found.

Four Chiseled Stone Altars can be found on one of the floors. Each one requires a Soul Star to become activated. Once filled in, the Night Lich will spawn; if it isn’t already, the day will be turned to night.

The Night Lich will fly around a lot, so realistically, the only way to defeat it is with a ranged weapon such as a Bow or Crossbow. During the battle, the Night Lich will cast multiple abilities, such as hitting you with explosive projectiles or summoning multiple Phantoms, which all attack you.

If the Night Lich cannot attack you, it may regenerate health. Its health bar is split into four sections and won’t regenerate once a section has been cleared.

Nether Gauntlet

The next boss is the Nether Gauntlet, and it can be found inside the Nether, specifically inside the Gauntlet Arena, which is usually partially submerged in lava. In the center of the arena is a monument with four blocks with an eye texture.

Bosses of Mass Destruction (3)

Breaking one of these blocks will cause the monument to open, and the Nether Gauntlet will appear. It’s important to note that the Nether Gauntlet won’t take any damage unless it’s hit in the eye, which is on the front.

One of the primary attacks the Nether Gauntlet will do is clench its fist and charge at the player. This will deal lots of damage, knock the player up, and destroy nearby terrain. However, it should be pretty easy to dodge.

Occasionally, the Nether Gauntlet will make its second attack. After a few seconds of charging up, it will fire a laser that destroys blocks and deals high amounts of damage, which must also be dodged.

Due to only being able to take damage through the eye, beating the Nether Gauntlet might take a while. After being defeated, a small structure will spawn in the Nether Gauntlets place, which comprises some Ancient Debris. There is also a Chest containing a Blazing Eye, which can be used to create a Table of Elevation or a Blast Amplifier.

Obsidilith

Within the End is the Obsidilith, a giant structure-like mob. It can be found atop the Obsidilith Arena, a giant floating structure that can be found floating in the void. It’s recommended to have an Elytra to fight this boss.

Bosses of Mass Destruction (5)

The rest of the Obisidilith Arena can’t be entered, so instead, make your way to the roof. There, you will find the Obsidian Altar. When an Eye of Ender is added, the Obsidilith will spawn, which looks like a monolith.

There are multiple attacks that you should be made of. When lights are on the ground around the Obsidilith, you should try and move away from these. They may knock you into the air and deal lots of damage. So the Slow Falling effect or Feather Falling Enchantment is beneficial. Annoyingly, this may also knock you into the void, so this is where an Elytra and Firework Rockets are helpful.

Bosses of Mass Destruction (6)

The Obsidilith will occasionally teleport around the arena, dealing immense explosive damage. Another ability to be aware of is that the Obsidilith will summon runic blocks around the arena, empowering it. These should be destroyed with a Netherite Pickaxe, ideally with the Efficiency Enchantment to speed the process up.

Other than that, the Obsidilith should be pretty easy to defeat. After being beaten, the loot will spawn within a Shulker Box atop a new Obsidian Pillar, so bring building blocks or a way to climb it.

Some of the loot you will receive are an Enchanted Diamond Pickaxe, Obsidian, Purpur Blocks, and an Obsidian Heart. Obsidian Hearts can be used to create the Blast Amplifier or the Staff of Suppression.

Void Blossom

Finally, there is the Void Blossom, a large flower-like creature. It can be found in the Overworld, deep underground, in an area that resembles the Lush Caves. Upon entering the arena, the Void Blossom will spawn.

Bosses of Mass Destruction (7)

Once again, this boss has a health bar split into multiple sections. After getting the health low enough, it won’t regenerate into the next section. One of the main things you need for this fight is healing, health regeneration, and the ability to move fast.

During the fight, the Void Blossom will summon spiky thorns from the ground, damaging the player. These are pretty hard to dodge, but it is possible. If you see the ground light up green, the Void Blossom is using a spitting attack, and if you are hit, you will be poisoned, which also deals lots of damage.

Bosses of Mass Destruction (8)

A few times throughout the fight, the Void Blossom will summon multiple petals around the arena, continuously healing the Void Blossom. These will need to be broken. As the stages progress, Vines will protect these, similar to how End Crystals are in the End with cages.

Upon defeating the Void Blossom, it will drop Crystal Fruit, which gives Regeneration II and Resistance I when consumed. Two Void Thorns can also be dropped, which are used in the recipe for the Charged Ender Pearl and Earthdive Spear.
